Innovative, inventive, imaginative, and utterly inimitable, The Junkman™ - classically trained percussionist/composer Donald Knaack—is the original recycled materials percussionist! Known as the “Daddy of the Eco-Beat,” a world class musician, The Junkman has been using recycled materials as his instruments of music since long before the green movement became hip.
Borrowing objects from the junkyard, garage, dumpster, kitchen, and beyond, The Junkman believes that anything can be used to make music and at a Junk Music™ concert, it typically is! Snowboards, car fenders, hubcaps, glass bottles, frying pans, fly swatters, saw blades...if you can strike, rub, or shake it to create a sound, it will wind up on the stage, helping The Junkman to recreate his one-of-a-kind compositions.
Location: Fuller Hall, St. Johnsbury Academy, 1000 Main Street, St. Johnsbury, VT
