Elise Lawson, a member of the Burke Conservation Commission will discuss her work and experiences with moose. She will touch upon what is happening with the moose population, and what Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine are doing to try and learn what we can do to help.
She will be bringing some of the wildlife skulls that she has found in the field over the years. Both adults and children are certain to enjoy seeing these.
Ms. Lawson has degrees in general biology and environmental science with a focus on large mammal research. She worked as a wolf and moose biologist while living in Canada. Back in the US, she started a consulting company and was involved in projects using wetland science, stewardship and conservation planning, and natural resource/habitat inventories.
