Vision: A Photography Workshop (Adults and high school students)

September 23, 2017  |   8:00 AM

Class fee: Class fee: $80 (10% discount for Catamount Arts members and high school students).

Instructor: Steven Edson

This one day workshop helps new and experienced photographers develop their unique vision. We will use St. Johnsbury as our backdrop and explore the textures, architecture, people and landscape to become better storytellers. Together, we will go out in the morning and explore parts of St. Johnsbury and discuss what we are seeing and figure out different ways of capturing it. At lunch, we will look at the different images everyone shot and discuss why they are successful or not. In the afternoon we will take our new sense of knowledge and go out again and photograph a different part of St. Johnsbury and return to discuss those images as well.

This is not a technical class, although we will cover basics and make sure that you are using your camera correctly to advance your photographic skills.

Steven Edson is an award winning fine art photographer based in Boston, MA. He has taught college degree courses in photography as well as continues to have a successful commercial photography career. He has a wealth of aesthetic and technical knowledge and is pleased to share it to benefit individuals trying to move forward with their own vision.
