Volunteer Trail Day Echo Lake Trail

September 7, 2019  |   8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Itching to get out in the woods and be productive? Do you enjoy our nordic trail network in the winter and want to see it grow? We want your help!

We will be hosting a volunteer Trail Day on Saturday, September 7th from 8am-12pm to work on improvements to on-site NorthWoods Trails. Our primary goal will be to finish clearing the (previously backcountry) Echo Lake Trail so that it can be re-opened for groomed nordic skiing this season. Thanks to work earlier this summer by the Conservation Corps youth crews, this trail is nearly ready with a newly built bridge and lots of trail clearing. This volunteer day will put the final touches on this and our other nordic trails – trimming back branches, clearing blowdowns, and preparing for the winter season!

Volunteers should bring appropriate clothing and closed-toed footwear, water, snacks, gloves, hand tools (loppers, hand saws) if you want to bring your own – if not, we have tools and gloves available. Please arrive promptly as we will be headed out on the trails and hard to find!

Be ready to work all morning then head back to the Center to enjoy a delicious pizza lunch!
