NEKNC Bill Koch League Kick-off!!!

December 28, 2012  |   9:00 AM

Please come join us for a family ski day to kick off our NEK BKL season on Friday morning, December 28th at the Mt. Hor Hop, a high school Nordic (cross-country) ski race overlooking beautiful Lake Willoughby. This is an opportunity for your child skier to:

See what a high school Nordic ski race looks like
Hang out with and maybe even ski with the racers and their coaches
Do some meaningful yet informal volunteering with your child to assist the race officials (optional)

Meet area high school Nordic ski coaches
It will be helpful to know how many parents and children can attend, so please contact Kathleen Haines at 748-8056 or Tiaan van der Linde at 535-2358 by December 7th if you plan to join us at this exciting event!

Details: The race venue is located at the Mt. Hor parking area on the left side of Route 5A (about 6 miles north of West Burke) just before the highway descends to Lake Willoughby. You’ll see the ski team buses parked there. Plan to meet at the parking area by 9:00 AM, and we will walk/ski/snowshoe to the start/finish area as a group. Please note that it may take as much as ½ hour to get up there, so towed sleds, Chariots, or other conveyances will make it easier for younger children to reach the crowds at the race.
