Ski Tour the Kingdom: Ski to Dinner

January 25, 2014  |   3:30 PM - 5:30 PM

Cost: $20, includes dinner

Join NorthWoods staff on the Tripp Hill Traverse, a 5-km cross country ski from Echo Lake to the NorthWoods Center. The terrain is rolling, along maintained trails – some groomed. This tour is appropriate for intermediate and adventurous beginner skiers. We’ll end at NorthWoods, where a homemade dinner awaits. Bring extra layers and a hot thermos. Limited skis available. Bring a change of clothes and stick around for the coffeehouse!

Cost: $5. Come trek along the beautiful NorthWoods trails in the first of three Snowshoe Naturalist events offered this winter. Examine the subtleties of tree barks and buds that reveal the species names. Learn about the adaptations that plants and animals of the North Woods evolved in order to survive the cold Vermont winters. Try to steal a glance of a snowshoe hare while wearing snowshoes yourself! Afterward, enjoy a fire and some hot cocoa in the lodge as the sky turns dark. Snowshoes available.
