BURKE AREA EVENTS

Summertime concerts in the park, NEMBAFest Mountain Bike Festival, The Annual Burke Fall Festival, WinterBike.... events of all sorts happen in and around Burke.  Moonlit snowshoe treks, live music performances, seasonal parades, craft fairs, Open Studios weekend, snowmobile drag races...it's all here!   To keep up to date on local happenings and special deals, sign up for the monthly Burke enewsletter.

 

From October - March, enjoy ice skating at Chester Arena - check their website for Public Skate times and other events.

 

The Catamount Arts Center in St. Johnsbury also features a range of events every week including independent film showings, classic films, theater, opera performances, live music as well as classes and workshops for all ages.  Check out their Events Calendar to see what's going on.

Rally on Burke Mountain

Q Burke Mountain Resort & NorthWoods Stewardship Center presents 2nd annual

Rally on Burke Mountain. Sponsored by Dyna Fit

USSMA Sanctioned Category-II Race.  Pre-Registration: Contact Maria Young at NorthWoods Stewardship Center (802) 723-6551 x115 or maria.cora.young@gmail.com. pre-registration ENDS Saturday, Feb 8 at noon.

Fee: $40 race class, $30 recreation class

$10 discount for pre-registering

Under 18 must have parent to sign waiver

Mens & Womens classes, snowboard class

Race Class: Approximately 4,300 ft vertical gain total. 7 transitions, including mass start dash to skis. Shouldering skis permitted for boot pack. Descent includes trees, black diamond trails, and bumps as well as groomed surfaces.

Recreation Class: 2,000 ft skin to summit and finish at Sherburne Base Lodge.

Award Ceremony: 11:00 am at Sherburne Base Lodge, après race snacks included

Prizes awarded for speed, spirit, and participation.

Start at Sherburne Base lodge, both classes start at the Sherburne base lodge and skin up Bunker Hill to Willoughby to summit parking lot. (stage 1)

(Stage 2)

Ski down Upper Bear Den, ledges, Lower Bear Den, High Meadows Pass to Sherburne Base Lodge, rec class finishes at Sherburne base lodge.

Race Class Continues

(Stage 3) skin up High Meadows Pass to East Bowl continue to top of Power Line (Stage 4) ski down Power Line to Powderhorn to Deer Run

(Stage 5) skin up Deer Run to (Stage 6) under Mid Burke Express boot pack up under lift to top to (Stage 7) Ski down same rout as First Upper Bear Den, ledges, Lower Bear Den, High Meadows Pass to Sherburne Base Lodge, rec class finishes at Sherburne base lodge.
