The Taming of the Shrew – Bolshoi Ballet
7:00 PM

Tickets: Adults - $18, Members - $15, Students - $6

Estimated Runtime: 2 hours and 40 minutes (160 minutes)

Music: Dmitri Shostakovich

Choreography: Jean-Christophe Maillot

Cast: The Bolshoi Principals, Soloists and Corps de Ballet

Many suitors dream of marrying the lovely and docile Bianca, including Luciento. However her father will not let anyone marry her before her elder sister, the ill-tempered shrew Katharina, is herself married. French choreographer Jean-Christophe Maillot lands a coup with his adaptation of Shakespeare's comedy tailored specifically to the Bolshoi dancers, and achieves a magnetic two hours of breathtaking, nonstop dance unlike any other, portraying the Bolshoi’s audacity and energy in a completely new way. This new production was staged exclusively for the Bolshoi and cannot be seen anywhere else!

This is an on-screen event.

A2VT—Africa To Vermont

Shows at 10:30 AM and 1:00 PM.   Tickets: $4.00
Buy tickets for all 4 school-time shows for $10. Just add tickets for each show to your basket and the discount will automatically be applied.

The performance of A2VT—Africa to Vermont—is best described in their own words. “We are A2VT: Three young guys from Africa. When war broke out in our home countries, we were forced to leave. Eventually we arrived in Vermont, where we now live. Now that we are here, we want to show people what we can do. We write songs. We sing. We rap. We dance. We have re-corded our first album, “Africa, Vermont” with grant funding from the Vermont Community Foundation. We think you will like what you hear!” A2VT are featured performers at this year’s Burling ton First Night Celebration.

This concert will offer you the opportunity to present the challenging concept of cultural diversity to your students. The positive message of A2VT’s G-Rated lyrics about the cultural differences between Vermont and their lives in Africa is presented to the infectious beat and rhythms of world music.

Fat Bike Poker Run!
8:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Calling all Gamblers!!!... Join us February 6th, (the day before Super Bowl so you can get a full weekend of gambling in...) on Kingdom Trails for a good old fashioned Poker Run. The proceeds will go to support the Kingdom Trails KT Friday Night Kids Ride.

For all you people wondering what a Poker run is, according to Wikipedia; " A poker run is an organized event where participants, usually using motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, boats, snowmobiles, horses, on foot or other means of transportation must visit five to seven checkpoints, drawing a playing card at each one. The object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run."

For this particular Poker Run, we will choose fatbikes, and snowshoes as the mode of transportation. You can do this as a team or individual- although you will all compete in the same category for one grand prize.

Participants will check in any time throughout the day after 8:30 at the Kingdom Trails Nordic Center to pick up a day pass, a raffle ticket, and a map of the 5 locations throughout the trail system that you will find the cards.

Then go out and have a great day on the trail network hitting the locations on the map and picking up a card at each station.

At 4:00, participants will present their hand at the After Party presented by Long Trail Brewing Company in the Spoke-Easy Lounge at Juniper's at the Wildflower Inn.

The grand prize for the best hand will be a night at the beautiful Wildflower Inn, Vermont. Don't worry, if luck isn't with you for the day, you can still win lots of raffle prizes and swag provided by Long Trail Brewing Company, Village Sport Shop Trailside, and Kingdom Trails.

Fatbike and snowshoe rental are available at The Village Sport Shop Trailside for a special "Poker Run" discounted rate for the day. Please contact them for rates and reservations.
