May 6, 2016 - May 7, 2016

Tickets: $8 general admission, $15 laminate memorabilia (select between these two in the drop down)

Join us for GreggFest 2016, this year on Friday, May 6th and Saturday, May 7th. Held in honor and memory of former Music Business and Industry Student, Jake Gregg, GreggFest raises money for the memorial endowment created in his name. Jake was a talented musician and songwriter, and his band Suncooked was a staple in the Lyndon community for several years. His promising music career was cut short by his two-year battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Sadly, Jake passed away in April of 2015, and his legacy is now carried on through the spirit of music at each year’s GreggFest. We invite you to enjoy the talented lineup that we are pleased to bring to the Northeast Kingdom this May.

GreggFest 2016 will be featuring some of the most popular local and regional talent. On Friday, May 6th, the bill will include acts such as the high-energy, improvisational funk group, Elephant, local favorites, The Mangroves, and everyone’s favorite rock and roll band, Gang of Thieves. On Saturday, May 7th, local favorites The Bonnets and The Atlantic Effect will take the stage, as well as New Hampshire’s own Funk-Hop band Harsh Armadillo, and one of the newest and hottest pop bands in Burlington, Madaila. Join us for this great cause, and a fun afternoon and evening filled with some of the regions best music.

Elektra (R. Strauss)

Tickets: $25 adults, $23 member, $16 students

The genius director Patrice Chéreau (From the House of the Dead) didn’t live to see his great Elektra production, previously presented in Aix and Milan, make it to the stage of the Met. But his overpowering vision lives on with soprano Nina Stemme—unmatched today in the heroic female roles of Strauss and Wagner—who portrays Elektra’s primal quest for vengeance for the murder of her father, Agamemnon. Legendary mezzo-soprano Waltraud Meier is chilling as Elektra’s fearsome mother, Klytämnestra. Soprano Adrianne Pieczonka and bass-baritone Eric Owens are Elektra’s troubled siblings. Chéreau’s musical collaborator Esa-Pekka Salonen conducts Strauss’s mighty take on Greek myth.

Eastern States Cup Victory Hill Enduro Race
8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Stop #2 in the Vittoria Eastern States Cup Enduro Race Series. The race venue is in the town of Victory on the backside of Burke Mtn. at an area called The Victory Hill Sector. Technically not part of the Kingdom Trails system yet, but planned to connect in the future, the network is an outgrowth of efforts to improve the route of Kingdom Trails’ annual CircumBurke MTB Challenge and Marathon Trail Run. With at least 12 miles of singletrack and several two mile long descents, the Victory Hill Sector is ideal for racing. Sprawled over the southern slopes of Umpire Mountain, the site offers plenty of space for parking, event set-up, camping, hiking, and racing as well as adventure biking and backcountry skiing with virtually no local traffic near the site. The mountain side is prime habitat for moose and bear with Canadian Lynx sightings reported. Register online now!
