June 8, 2018 - June 10, 2018
Annual Tour de Kingdom

 Fees: $65 per day.

We offer three days of SAG supported rides on carefully selected stretches of road that showcase The Northeast Kingdom at it’s very best. Quiet back rods that are favorites of our local cyclists. Light traffic and recent repaving make for some of the best cycling in the northeast. We provide the lunches, the maps, the directions, and roving SAG wagons that are fully equipped by the Village Bike Shop in Derby. We love the coming of lilacs along the roadside and the lush greens that come with High Spring in the Kingdom.

AND on Saturday, we invite you to DO THE MOOSE, a timed event with some great prizes for individual winners (six packs of lift tickets at Burke Mountain and day passes at Kingdom Trails), not to mention a couple of pounds of Brault’s Beef Jerky and some Couture’s Maple Syrup to the winners of the Team Challenge. Then again, many may just want to savor a great ride, on great roads. It’s Lilac Season and there are many spots where you can smell them along the roadside as you ride by. So here’s what we got:

Friday, June 9th, 2017 — Ride Around Lake Memphremagog: This ride is a favorite of our local Kingdom Velo Group – In 2010 we added this ride and folks really love it — a guided tour around Lake Memphremagog with stops at Georgeville, Magog, The Abby, and Mansonville. This 80 mile route is a great way to “warm up” for the weekend. Or do it as a stand-alone day and forget the rest. But, you better bring your passport! It involves International Travel and is just so much fun. We also offer a shorter ride up to Georgeville and back. We meet at The EastSide Restaurant, 47 Landing Street, Newport, Vermont at 8:00 am and leave at 8:30 am.

Saturday, June 10th, 2017 – The Moose . We gather at Mike’s Tiki Bar in East Burke at 8 am with a start at 8:30 am. We head north up Route 114 through Island Pond to Norton and Canaan and then down one of the most beautiful and serene stretches of the Connecticut River before returning to Island Pond and then back to East Burke. Here’s a link to Saturday’s Century Course Map. For those looking to ride a shorter distance, we shuttle you to Island Pond and just do the Norton, Canaan, Bloomfield loop.

DO THE MOOSE, is a timed event, with some great prizes and wonderful spirit.

Sunday, June 11th, 2017 – Lake Region Century. 8:30am start. At Mike’s Tiki Bar. The route takes you through the legendary lake region of the Northeast Kingdom – by Willoughby, Memphremagog, Seymour and Island Pond before bringing you back to East Burke. Here’s a link to Saturday’s Century Course Map. We also offer a less strenuous but equally beautiful 45 mile option that brings you along the shores of Lake Willoughby and Crystal Lake. Here’s the link to the 45 Mile Course Map.

Northwoods Stewardship Center Intro to Mountain Bike Adventure Camp

 Ages: 6-12

Tuesday - Friday, $450

Tue, Weds, Fri 9:30am - 3:30pm

Thursday 1pm-7pm *w/pizza dinner

This camp is geared for those who are new to the wild and wonderful world of adventure by mountain bike. The camp day and week is a bit shorter, and instructors will focus on introducing essential bike skills in a low pressure environment. Like our more advanced camps, we’ll practice these skills at Burke Mountain Bike Park and on Kingdom Trails, and we’ll make sure there is time for outdoor games, team-building challenges,
and swimming. In this Intro Camp, we may also begin a spontaneous game of Camouflage in the woods, a way to loosen our singletrack muscles and focus, and to help remind us of the most fundamental parts of mountain biking – it’s fun!
