BURKE AREA EVENTS

Summertime concerts in the park, NEMBAFest Mountain Bike Festival, The Annual Burke Fall Festival, WinterBike.... events of all sorts happen in and around Burke.  Moonlit snowshoe treks, live music performances, seasonal parades, craft fairs, Open Studios weekend, snowmobile drag races...it's all here!   To keep up to date on local happenings and special deals, sign up for the monthly Burke enewsletter.

 

From October - March, enjoy ice skating at Chester Arena - check their website for Public Skate times and other events.

 

The Catamount Arts Center in St. Johnsbury also features a range of events every week including independent film showings, classic films, theater, opera performances, live music as well as classes and workshops for all ages.  Check out their Events Calendar to see what's going on.

Overnight on Friday. Saturday pickup 1pm.

For kids who love to travel on two wheels! Burke Mountain Bike Park Instructors and NorthWoods experienced staff team up to provide a dream camp experience for those kids who love to travel on two wheels (and to cool off in a river or lake after!). Camp includes an introduction to bike maintenance, trail-building, and nature exploration. Skill progression is developed on the downhill trails at the Burke Mountain Bike Park and on Kingdom Trails.

Lyndon Farmers' Market

The Lyndon Farmers’ Market has been operating for nearly ten years, and has grown to provide one of the most enjoyable farmers market experiences in the Northeast Kingdom. Over 15 vendors meet every Friday afternoon at beautiful Bandstand Park from May through October. We sell locally grown and made Vermont products, including fresh vegetables and fruits, quality meats, eggs, artisan breads, baked goods, ethnic foods, herbs, plants, flowers, arts and crafts, and maple syrup. Bandstand Park is filled with large shade trees, a fountain, and plenty of room for kids to run and play while parents stroll from tasty cinnamon buns to crisp lettuce and brightly colored carrots. We offer live music every week performed by local musicians. Come and visit us as soon and as often as you can!

Queens of the Kingdom - Women's MTB Skills Weekend





 This is a women's mountain bike skills building weekend, focused on ample 1 on 1 attention with all female instructors. Are you hoping to improve your skills with like-minded women, in a beautiful setting? Group sizes are MAX 20 women per session (we work with a 5:1 rider to instructor ratio), ensuring that every attendee receives individual attention in order to maximize skills building, riding time, and FUN!

 

- All abilities welcome from absolute beginners to intermediate/advanced riders
- Great for most ages (16+)
- Focuses on building both foundational and specific skills
- Ample ride time to apply the skills you learn!

 Every Monday night we will be leading group rides to explore some of the most beautiful back roads in the Northeast Kingdom. Rides will start and end at our downtown Lyndonville shop and will last for about an hour and a half at a moderate pace.

 

***FREE RENTALS IN MAY!***
We will be offering FREE gravel bike rentals during the month of May for those participating in the Monday night rides. This is a great opportunity if you're curious about this genre of cycling or if you're just looking to try out the new Specialized Sequoia or Diverge. If you'd like to rent a bike we suggest you arrive at 5:30 so we can set you up.

ShoeFly Trail Run Series

The 2018 ShoeFly Trail Running Series takes place in beautiful Northern VT/NH.
The ShoeFly series features monthly trail runs & walks for all ages and abilities, and for the just-for-fun to the most competitive crowd.
MAY – JUNE – JULY – AUGUST – SEPTEMBER 2018

Escape the Pavement! Enjoy the Dirt! Roam the Forest! Chow down after each outing with friends and family… then return the next month for more!

The $65.00 Registration Fee includes entry into all May, June, July, August & September ShoeFly Trail Runs. The Registration Fee also includes a Patagonia T-Shirt and race trinket.
Runners and walkers of all ages welcome. Choose your distance: 1 Mile, 5K or 10K. All distances are approximate. Children 12 and under free.
Trail Run Schedule: From May until September… Run the 2nd Thursday of the month on Littleton, NH’s PRKR Mountain and Regional Trails. Run the 3rd Thursday of the month on East Burke, VT’s Kingdom Trails.
ShoeFly Series Runs begin promptly at 5:30 p.m.

KT 50 & 100K - Mountain Bike Adventure Challenge!





 *Tickets go on sale beginning at 6 am on Monday, May 7th*

Have you ever wanted to hop on your bike in the morning and ride all day on some of the best most beautiful trails in North America?

Ever want to do that but have food stations with local and authentic maple donuts, coffee, sandwhiches and brownies to fuel you along the way?
Pre and post ride treats and brews?
Well this is the event for you!
. Last year a hearty group of riders departed on a 62 mile trail ride that was 99% single-track finishing at the iconic Heavens Bench for delicious and well earned food and post ride libations. This year we have added a 50K (31 mile) option that will be for those who want to have a stepping block to the 100K or who just want to spend the day on some of the best trails in the world. This is a guided ride and is not a competition, this is a good times trails ride and a great excuse to go out and enjoy MOST of the single-track that Kingdom Trails has to offer!

- Most abilities welcome from Intermediate to Intermediate/Advanced riders
- Great for most ages (18+)
- Perfect for you IF: You get on you love riding your bike a lot and are looking for a challenge!
