Momentum Mountain Bike Sleep Away Camp: Grades 9 - 12

Our goal in this camp is to create an experience that goes beyond just having a good time on two wheels (however that is hugely important!). We went to create a camp that will leave children feeling more confident, empowered, knowledgeable and independent.

In this year’s curriculum we will be going beyond the bike with expert elective clinics on:

- Mindfulness
- Introduction to healthy nutrition and cooking
- Action sports photography basics
- Active Stretching AKA Yoga
- Spanish Language Lessons with Middlebury College graduate
- Coaching 101 – How to help to structure your riding to balance longevity and performance
- Bicycle Mechanics
- SAT Prep

All of these clinics are incorporated to help create well-balanced and healthy habits to fuel a long life of fun and industriousness!

Levitt AMP St. Johnsbury Music Series
4:00 PM - 7:00 PM

 Ward Hayden & the Outliers
Website: https://www.wardhaydenandtheoutliers.com/
Youtube: https://youtu.be/z26MBGmIErs
Genre: Country
Home Town: Boston, MA

Ward Hayden & The Outliers (formerly Girls Guns & Glory) formed as a way to break from the music so commonly found on popular radio airwaves. Hayden’s foray into country music and early rock ‘n’ roll began with a fateful borrowing of a few of his mother’s cassettes. When asked, Hayden remarks, “I was doing these long drives and there was nothing appealing to me on the radio. I was twenty years old at the time and had been through my first experiences with heartbreak and loss. When I put some of these cassettes on the player in my Oldsmobile Delta Eighty-Eight, all I could think was, “this is everything I’ve been searching for.”

The Levitt AMP St. Johnsbury Music Series will return for the third year to Dog Mountain, a breathtaking 150-acre, dog-friendly destination in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom Rural Enterprise Assistance Project Zone. Through vibrant and diverse arts programming, the 2019 series will continue to re-animate this former industrial area and bring together “St. Jay” residents of all walks of life to support the growth of a sustainable, year-round local creative economy.

Presented by Catamount Arts, a nonprofit full-service arts center dedicated to promoting the arts throughout northern Vermont and New Hampshire, encouraging appreciation, participation and cultivation of the arts as an integral part of community life, in partnership with Friends of Dog Mountain, Town of St. Johnsbury/St. Johnsbury Police Department, St. Johnsbury Chamber of Commerce, KCP Presents and Northern Vermont University - Lyndon.

Race Back To School on Kingdom Trails
8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

The Kingdom Trail Association and Riverside School are organizing this community building, school fund-raiser.

This event is open to bikers, walkers and runners of all ages!

The race will take place on a designated loop system of the Kingdom Trails, offering different degrees of difficulty. In addition, there will be fun stations along the way that participants can join.

Participants – individuals or relay teams of up to four - will receive points for each loop and for completing “fun-stations” within the two-hour competition time.

Teams will be awarded points based on completed loops and stations by all members of the team. The team must stick together. Therefore, a team of 2 may get more points than a team of 4 as points are awarded per team not per individual in the team category.

Prizes will be locally donated items.

Check-in starts at 8:00 am, the event then runs from 9:00 am - 11:00 am, followed by music, prizes, and food.

For information on how you can raise pledges for your school, please contact melfinn@gmail.com

“Connecting With Horses” a one-day clinic w/ Chris Lombard
9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

We are happy to announce that Chris Lombard will be returning to the Sanctuary this year to lead us on another journey of connection and understanding horses.

Through Chris’ gentle and knowledgeable guidance last summer, our group was able to learn a great deal about how to connect with the horses we partnered with on a much deeper level. We also had incredible results in a short time of positive responses and altered behavior in the horses, some with abusive pasts.

This clinic will be one the ground only, the location where the foundation of a quality relationship with a horse is built.
Participants will learn how to communicate effectively without the use of force, welcoming the horse to use it’s voice and willingly partner with the person.
