"Hull's musical path recalls the artistic trajectory of crossover star Krauss, another child prodigy who branched out beyond bluegrass to great acclaim." - Chicago Tribune

Called by Allison Krauss to the Grand Ole Opry stage at 11 and signed by Rounder Records at age 13, singer and virtuoso mandolin ace Sierra Hull amazed audiences and musicians long before she became the first bluegrass musician to receive a Presidential Scholarship to the prestigious Berklee College of Music. In addition to her ethereal voice and fluid musicality, Hull's latest album (produced by 15-time Grammy winner Bela Fleck) showcases her celebrated skills as a composer and lyricist. A seasoned touring musician, Hull speaks eloquently, through her challenging and sensitive originals, her heartfelt vocals, and her endlessly groundbreaking mandolin.

Americana stand-outs Mike + Ruthy have assembled a new band and, as with their last one, The Mammals, fans and critics alike are showing a lot of love. He's a songwriting guitar-slinger with a knack for clawhammer banjo. She's a fiddler and uke-chanteuse who grew up in the American roots underground, the daughter of GRAMMY-winning fiddler, Jay Ungar. These two believe in the transformative power of a great live show, performing worldwide with a charm and on-stage ease that might make you think they're your new best friends.

"Dear Mike + Ruthy, Your Hoot was one of the best song-gatherings I've seen in all my 94 years. I hope next year I can be there for more than one day." -Pete Seeger

Made In Vermont Statewide Tour
7:30 PM

A delightful opener from Mozart sets the tone for the Vermont Symphony Orchestra’s 23rd annual “Made in Vermont” statewide tour program

This year we proudly feature VSO principal trumpet and English horn in Copland’s haunting showcase, Quiet City. Our traditional world premiere, entitled "in clarion fields," was written by composer/flutist Zach Sheets from Norwich, Vermont. Much of the music for the musical Kismet was drawn from Borodin’s tuneful String Quartet No. 2, here arranged for string orchestra.
