Family farms are still abundant in Vermont, particularly here in the Northeast Kingdom. In some towns, there are more cows than there are people! From the sheep farmer to the vegetable farmer, all of Vermont's farmers are proud to be working the land in keeping with our cultual heritage. Farms in Vermont raise or have dairy cows, beef cows, sheep, diary goats, lamas, alpacas, vegetables, flowers, fruits, chickens, pigs, maple syurp, and more. VTFarms.org offers events and links to farms and events in Vermont and also lets you see which working farms are open to the public. Cabot Creamery has put together a wonderful website with farmer stories from Vermont and around New England. Read about the dairy farms and how life is down on the farm.
