Maple Sugaring
Vermont Maple Syrup is made during sugaring season

Spring is Vermont's sweetest season. When the snow startst to melt, the sap from the maple sugar trees starts to run. When the sugarmakers start making that tasty 'Liquid Gold', is when you can smell you're in Vermont.

Vermont maple syrup is available in many of the local stores, but it's best fresh and warm right from the sugarhouse. Vermont hosts an 'Open Sugarhouse' weekend each year. Come to Vermont March 26-28, 2010 and visit some local sugarhouses and see how Vermont Maple Syurp is made!

For a complete list of sugarhouses open go to VermontMaple.org.
