Moose in the Winter

Moose, Deer, Bear and birds are probably the most common wildlife associated with Vermont. There are many more different species of wildlife here in Vermont, and species of wildlife that are a rare find like the Catamount. The Vermont Fish and Wildlife has a listing of Vermont's rare and endangered species.

Vermont is known for moose sightings in the Northeastern part of the State, right here in the Northeast Kingdom. Ask anyone local where you can 'see a moose', and they'll point you in the right direction. Many spotings happen along Route 114 North of East Burke all the way North to the Canadian border and East to the New Hampshire Border. If you want to get out and walk, go to the Victory bog, just be careful where you step!
