Lyndon Institute Centennial Celebration Auction & Social

 Our Main Building is turning 100 years old in December, and funds raised during the auction will help to ensure the integrity and preservation of the building for generations to come. This 8-day course is the recognized industry standard for those who work as backcountry trip leaders, camp counselors, mountain guides, river guides, and ski patrollers. SOLO CPR certification included.

 

Kingdom Adventures Mountain Guides is proud to serve as the sponsor and instructional provider of SOLO wilderness medicine courses in Northern Vermont. The two-day Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course is SOLO's most popular creating a solid foundation in the basics of backcountry medical care. Initially offered in 1975, this course was the first of its kind in the United States, and it is the curriculum upon which all other backcountry medicine courses are based.

Storytelling with Jim Arnosky

 NorthWoods Stewardship Center and the Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF) will host a free storytelling event with author Jim Arnosky on December 3rd at 11:00am in the NorthWoods Lodge. This event is open to all and there will be free books given away to all children in attendance.
Jim Arnosky is the author and illustrator of over 100 books on subjects related to nature. He is also the illustrator of more than 40 other books written by various authors. He has been awarded the Christopher Medal, Orbis Pictus Honor, ALA Gordon Award, and Outstanding Science book awards from National Science Teacher Associations. Jim was born in New York City and raised in Pennsylvania. Since 1976, he and his family have lived in an old farmhouse in Vermont.
