Winter Day Camp

Winter Break Camp is the perfect remedy to cabin fever during cold winter days. Campers will be immersed in all things winter during this three day camp where every day brings new adventures. Daily themes of Winter Trekkers, Wildlife Wednesday, and Outdoor Survival will bring an array of fun activites and memorable experiences. New this year is an early drop off and late pick up option for busy families who can bring their camper to camp as early as 8am and pick up as late as 4pm at no extra charge! The Vertical Challenge

Annual LOC Uphill Bonanza
10:00 AM - 4:00 PM





 The Lyndon Outing Club has partnered with Jesse Holden of NEK Endurance to bring the third annual 6-Hour Uphill Bonanza to the hill on Saturday, March 4th, from 10 AM – 4 PM. The event will test grit and determination as single participants and teams will see how many times they can skin up and ski back down the hill in 6 hours. If you do not own a ski touring setup, there will be demos on-site, or there will also be the option to hike or snowshoe up and back down. In the singles event, the participant’s lap will be counted after every trip up and down. In the team version, team members will take turns doing laps in any way they see fit. NEK Endurance will be donating much of the proceeds from registration to the Lyndon Outing Club to help them continue their mission of providing low-cost skiing to the Northeast Kingdom community.

Snow Sisters Winter Camp

Open to girls and non-binary folks, this wintry adaptation of our Earth Sisters summer camp will show campers that having fun at NorthWoods isn’t bound to any one season. In this two-day overnight camp, we’ll set up base in the NorthWoods bunkhouse and fill our time seeking out the winter wonders our campus has to offer. Starting off with our Winter Trekkers theme, campers can expect to spend much of our first day exploring trails on snowshoes and cross-country skis. Our next day will be full of Critters and Crafts. Featuring a visit to our resident barred owl Oberon, nature-based crafts, and closer looks at how Vermont animals have adapted to their environment, our last day will be full of learning and fun!

An Energetic Cleanse for the Spring Equinox

SHEJUMPS & KEAP JR. SKI PATROL EVENT.

 SheJumps and Kingdom East Afterschool Programs (KEAP) are exited to offer the first ever Junior Ski Patrol event at Burke Mountain! Event registration includes lift tickets, lunch and snacks. This event is free to students in the Kingdom East School District (including home schooled students), when you register with the code sent by the school.

SheJumps' Junior Ski Patrol seeks to mentor young girls in mountain safety and first aid while working with the women of the ski patrol community. At the Burke Mountain event, girls will be introduced to ski patrol through workshops on first aid, weather, toboggans, etc. This event will encourage girls to learn new skills, take on challenges, and think creatively which we hope will develop perseverance and foster confidence.

Registration opens to the general public on February 18th (if space remains) and will cost $40 for non-Kingdom East Students.

The two-day Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course is SOLO's most popular creating a solid foundation in the basics of backcountry medical care. Initially offered in 1975, this course was the first of its kind in the United States, and it is the curriculum upon which all other backcountry medicine courses are based.
