BURKE AREA EVENTS

Summertime concerts in the park, NEMBAFest Mountain Bike Festival, The Annual Burke Fall Festival, WinterBike.... events of all sorts happen in and around Burke.  Moonlit snowshoe treks, live music performances, seasonal parades, craft fairs, Open Studios weekend, snowmobile drag races...it's all here!   To keep up to date on local happenings and special deals, sign up for the monthly Burke enewsletter.

 

From October - March, enjoy ice skating at Chester Arena - check their website for Public Skate times and other events.

 

The Catamount Arts Center in St. Johnsbury also features a range of events every week including independent film showings, classic films, theater, opera performances, live music as well as classes and workshops for all ages.  Check out their Events Calendar to see what's going on.

Resolve to Evolve Winter Trail Challenge





 Kingdom Trails is challenging you to some friendly competition!
The Resolve to Evolve is a month-long push for a healthy lifestyle. The event is family-friendly, socially distanced, and designed to encourage our community to shake off the winter blues and compete for prizes and GLORY!


Participants will log miles to earn points by using a gps app while traveling on the Kingdom Trail system. Participants that log the most points win fabulous prizes!

DATES
January 1st - January 31th
REGISTRATION FEES
Individual Youth (5-15) = $10
Individual Adult (16+)= $20
Group Youth (minimum of 2 tickets) =$7/ticket
Group Adult (minimum of 2 tickets) =$14/ticket
Each ticket comes with a complementary January membership. Your confirmation email will serve as your proof of purchase.
If you are a current member, you can use code KTMEMBER for 25% off your total purchase.
POINTS
The goal is to achieve the most amount of points!
Points are awarded for each mile travelled on designated loops. There will be a beginner, intermediate, and advanced Fatbike/Snowshow and nordic loops.
CATEGORIES
The 3 main categories are Nordic Ski, Snowshoe, and Fatbike.
Each main category will have the following subcategories:
Youth (Ages 5-9)
Tween (Ages 10-15)
Adult (Ages 16+)
PRIZES
Prizes will be awared to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each category.
TRACKING PROGRESS
Participants will create a free account with Ride With GPS and download the app. Be sure to open the app and record while on the network!
If you do not have a phone wish to go low tech, you can also self-certify your loops here: Self Certification Form*
*If you decide to self-certify you will not appear on the Ride With GPS Leaderboard.
COVID-19 CONSIDERATIONS
All participants must agree to adhere to Kingdom Trails COVID-19 policies.

Free Sunday Morning Sledding
9:30 AM - 11:30 AM





 Sponsored by the Northeast Kingdom Community Action Parent Child Center.

This is a FREE event and there will be one FREE hot cocoa available for each person in attendance. Please bring your own sleds if you have them. If you do not own a sled you can sign out one of our sleds or tubes. There is a limited number of sleds available and will be signed out for a set amount of time, based on the number of people there.

Now we need to cover the rules we are implementing to keep everyone safe! Social distancing and mask-wearing are required. When you arrive, you must sign in for contact tracing! The lodge will NOT be open to the public. The kitchen will NOT be open. There will be NO restroom available. Please plan accordingly.
