Meryl Lebowitz
Self-taught oil painter, Lebowitz has experimented with painting not only on canvas and paper, but on a variety of unlikely surfaces, from violins to scrap metal. Her paintings range from the realistic to the surrealistic, often combining photographs with the painted image. Her subjects are familiar: local faces and landscapes, the interior of her studio or favorite restaurants, friends and family, but their appeal is universal. Her award winning work can be found in collections throughout the United States.

David Tanych
Size matters, according to fine woodworker and metal sculptor, David Tanych. He has been building objects since his father gave him a saw, hammer, nails and a block of wood at the age of 10. A veteran home and furniture builder, David has turned his interest in design and fabrication from the functional and practical to the imaginative and artistic. His metal sculptures can often be found in the lush landscape paintings of his artist wife, Meryl Lebowitz.

Burklyn Arts Council
Burklyn Arts Council is a not for profit organization serving the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont (specifically the towns of Lyndonville, Burke, Sutton, Newark, Sheffield, Wheelock, Concord and Lunenberg). We provide mini-grants for arts-related projects in our schools and in the community, including art projects, music & art supplies, visiting artists, community events and more. We fund these projects largely through revenue from two major craft fairs we hold annually.

Alia Thabit Traditional & Avant-Garde Belly Dance
Alia offers belly dancing classes, coaching and private lessons, and corporate training programs. She welcomes beginners through professional dancers and teachers. Alia champions belly dance as a vehicle for healing and joy. Classes may focus on performance, teaching, or emotional and physical well-being and healing.
