2024 Membership Dues

  • Business with 1 – 10 employees = $110
  • Business with 11 – 25 employees = $135
  • Business with 26 or more employees = $160
  • Individual (non-business members) = $70 (no listing on chamber website for individual members)

*please note, private long term or vacation rental properties are considered a business as are businesses where the owner is the only employee

 

Payment of Chamber dues is always due in January of each year for all renewing members.

New members are welcome to join at any time of year.

Mission
Statement

 

The object of the Burke Area Chamber of Commerce, Inc. shall be to promote the economic, civic and social welfare of the people of Burke and vicinity. The Burke Area Chamber of Commerce, Inc. is organized to advance the general welfare and prosperity of the Burke area so that its citizens and all areas of its economic community shall prosper. Promotion shall be provided and particular attention and emphasis shall be given to the interests of the area.

 

Geographic Area

 

As the BURKE AREA Chamber of Commerce, our geographic area includes Burke, VT and other towns within a 40 mile radius of Burke.   We also welcome members from other areas who have an interest in the Burke Area and the objectives of the Chamber as stated in our bylaws.

Member Benefits

 

  • A heating oil and propane discount program (discounts offered from Amerigas, Irving Oil, Bourne's Energy).
  • Business members receive a free listing, description, picture and links on the Burke Chamber website, www.BurkeVermont.com. The Chamber website places high in searches for Burke Area recreation, activities, lodging and events.  The Website receives an average of 50,000 hits per year.
  • Enewsletters are regularly sent to visitors to the area and others with an interest in Burke and to Burke Chamber members, spotlighting businesses, local deals, lodging and area events.
  • 20% discount on graphic advertising in The Caledonian Record newspaper.
  • 20 - 25% discounts on Constant Contact email and enewsletter marketing service.
  • The Chamber responds to information requests received via email, phone, and mail.
  • The Chamber maintains Facebook and Twitter pages and uses these sites to promote & share news about member businesses and area events.
  • The Chamber organizes and manages annual events including the Burke Fall Festival, The Santa Visit to West Burke, Christmas Tree Display in East Burke, the Strawberry Festival and others.  
  • Occasional Chamber Networking Events for members to interact with other members in a relaxed atmosphere.
  • Maintains the East Burke Kiosk and participates in the Lyndon Area/Burke Area Information Booth.
  • Discounted opportunities to advertise in major publications and participate in co-op ads for the Burke Area.
  • The Chamber will provide letters of support for member businesses seeking grants or other endeavors requiring support letters.
