In 2011, the Burke Area Chamber of Commerce formed a new committee called the Burke Area Destination Development Committee. The goal of the BADDC is to attract more visitors to our area in a strategic and responsible way that benefits the community as well as our visitors. More visitors keeps our businesses open and your neighbors employed and purchasing local services.
The BADDC obtained the services of Hannah Marketing Group and compiled a huge amount of data from a survey sent out to visitors of the Burke area in 2011. You can download the results of the survey and the 2011 strategic marketing plan here:

In 2012, The Burke Chamber submitted a Rural Business Opportunity Grant (RBOG) to USDA Rural Development and we were awarded a grant to partially fund Phase 1 of the Burke Area Destination Development Initiative. The goal of the Destination Development Initiative is to increase visitation to the Burke Area and by doing so we hope to see all area businesses benefit and to see improvements in the local economy.
We began working with Flek to refine the Burke Area Brand Identity and create a slogan and visuals to represent our brand.
