Chili Cook-Off and Rail Jam

Attention, kitchen maestros of all levels, from novice cooks to seasoned experts! We’re on a quest to discover your culinary magic and add some sizzle to the 13th annual chili cook-off at the Lyndon Outing Club (LOC). But hold onto your aprons because this is no ordinary cook-off. It’s a thrilling fundraiser designed to turbocharge LOC’s mission of providing affordable skiing, snowboarding, and outdoor adventure opportunities to our vibrant Northeast Kingdom community.

This year, we’re taking it up a notch by merging the chili cook-off with a brew fest featuring beloved local brews like Dirt Church, Whirligig, Red Barn, and St J distillery. Plus, there’s more action with a thrilling running and bicycle race on the hill, hosted by the one and only Jesse Holden.

If you’re eager to be part of the excitement and want to show off your chili-making prowess, just visit the website for all the essential details, rules, and sign-up information! Take a moment to peruse the provided information, and if you’re up for the challenge, complete and return the form by Wednesday, October 25, 2023. Expect to hear from us directly to confirm your participation in this sizzling event!

Wild Turkey 5K Run or Walk
8:00 AM

This is our 3rd annual Wild Turkey trot that benefits H.O.P.E. in Lyndonville! While this is not a timed race by any means, the purpose of this event is to bring community members (and whoever may be in town) together for some morning movement and conversation before heading to their families for Thanksgiving. Kids, dogs, farm animals, and costumes are welcomed!
Please consider bringing a non perishable item or donation for H.O.P.E. that will be collected before the start. Walk or run at your pace for a non competitive morning of exercise and smiles.
8am start in front of my fitness studio
We ask everyone to park in town and walk up to the start as we will not have parking at the starting area. Cafe Lotti should be open for either a hot coffee or cider!
As always, the course is an out an back on Maple lane (mostly flat) past the Brown’s dairy farm on dirt road.
Note: There are no prizes, numbers, or timing. My family is in Maine and I have to leave the area by 9am to take on a 3 hour drive, therefore I will not be hanging around waiting for everyone to finish.
Please accordingly as it will be in the high 20’s at the start.
See you then! See less
