On Sunday, December 10th at the Burke Mountain Club holiday party, the Burke Area Chamber of Commerce announced the winners of the Annual Christmas Tree Contest. Five winners were chosen and each got to choose a charity to receive $100 from the Chamber.

They were one of the winners for Best Business Tree and chose East Haven Library as their charity. Luke, Grace, and Owen helped make the decorations featuring photos of people’s pets, and their dad, Jake, made the doghouse.

Century 21 Farm & Forest Realty also won for Best Business Tree with a ‘Home in the Kingdom’ theme and their charity of choice is the Lyndon Area Food Shelf.

Best School Tree went to the Thaddeus Stevens School which featured colorful ornaments made by the students. Northeast Kingdom Youth Services will receive $100 on their behalf.

Best Lights went to Tim Scott Real Estate whose tree featured holiday messages from the students of Peacham Elementary School.

Best Decorations went to Café Lotti whose tree included ornaments featuring local Artist Dorian McGowan’s sketches of area residents. The latter winners have not yet chosen charities. The trees will be on display until just after the New Year.
