Intro to Mountain Bike Day Camp

Ages: 7-11
This camp is geared towards those who are new to the wild and wonderful world of adventure by mountain bike. The camp day is shorter and individual attention helps riders conquer small and large obstacles, while benefiting from the low pressure environment and encouragement from the group. We will practice our skills during group rides on Kingdom Trails and in the Burke Mountain Bike Park, while also leaving enough time for outdoor games, team-building challenges, and swimming. We may also begin a spontaneous game of camouflage in the woods as a way to loosen our single-track muscle and remind us of the most fundamental rule of mountain biking – it’s fun!

$15 advance sale, $20 at the door, students under 18 free

Fellow Pynins is an award winning contemporary folk duo with a keen and bucolic sense of vocal harmony and song craft. The live performance is a whimsically emotional escapade through the chasms of our, yes, feelings. Dashed with spontaneous and clever banter, mirth and woe, you will probably cry and quite possibly laugh, a lot. Wielding claw-hammer banjo, Irish bouzouki, mandolin, and acoustic guitar the duo sings predominantly original music as well as reworked traditional ballads gathered from their travels.

Earth Sisters Overnight Camp

Ages: 10-15

NorthWoods’ camp for girls and non-binary kids is back and ready to help campers build connections with one another and the natural world. Returning to our overnight roots of the past, this three-day camp will be dedicated to exploring local wonders, building our survival and camp skills, learning about the natural communities around us, and discovering how to face new experiences and challenges as a team. Tuesday’s focus will be on camp comradery – building our own full value contract, testing out the NorthWoods’ low ropes course elements, and hiking up to the glacial erratic to set up camp. Wednesday will be all about water, as we hike from the glacial erratic to Echo Lake and spend our day exploring the lake and perfecting our paddling skills via canoe, before we set up our tents along the shoreline. On Thursday, we’ll travel back to NorthWoods for a guided craft, animal investigations, and games before our final celebration at the pond.

St. Johnsbury Country Club 100th Anniversary Celebration

This year’s golf season marks the 100th anniversary of continuous operation for St. Johnsbury Country Club. This is a significant moment for the club and the local recreation scene it has served since 1923. Many kingdom natives spent countless days playing the original nine holes as children, adults, and guests during its existence. In celebration of this milestone, StJCC invites NEK visitors, residents, and club members (past and current) to participate in the centennial recognition. Bring your game to the Willie Park design, shop the gear in the pro shop, or enjoy the many selections in the Grill Room. The official celebration is planned for July 21, 22, and 23 with opportunities to play the course, learn the club’s history, and review artifacts, photos and share stories about StJCC’s legacy.

Middle Ring Camp

MEETS 9:00-12:00 Monday-Friday AGES 8-13

Skill building, fitness and health are the main emphasis for our Middle Ring group. We strive to advance our campers into competent, responsible riders while getting awareness of what is healthy for their bodies. A typical session starts with 30 minutes of skills on a flat and easy terrain followed by balance and pressure control work on the Kingdom Trails network. After a snack break we hit the single track and log some miles! Some sessions may end with a well deserved dunk in the Dishmill Brook.
