BURKE AREA EVENTS

Laurent Pelly’s storybook staging of Massenet’s Cendrillon is presented with an all-new English translation in an abridged 90-minute adaptation, with mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard as its rags-to-riches princess. Maestro Emmanuel Villaume leads a delightful cast, which includes mezzo-soprano Emily D’Angelo as Cinderella’s Prince Charming, soprano Jessica Pratt as her Fairy Godmother, and mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe and bass-baritone Laurent Naouri as her feuding guardians.

WARREN MILLER'S 72ND FILM: WINTER STARTS NOW

 This season, the snow will feel a little deeper, the jumps a little higher and the views from the top will be just a bit more inspiring. Head to Sugarloaf where we’ll meet the minds behind the manufacturing of Winterstick Snowboards, and meet Phil & Amy Taisey, who craft Amalgam Skis out of their garage. Follow Vermont native Jim Ryan around Sun Valley with some new friends.

 

Athletes include Marcus Caston, Amie Engerbretson, JT Holmes and more as well as rising stars Madison Ostergren and Noah Elliott. Follow along on a disabled ski descent of Denali with Vasu Sojitra and Pete McAfee.

 Gather your friends and join us Thursday, November 11th for a night of Trivia, yummy food specials and Sierra Nevada beer specials all in the View Pub. Food & Beer specials start at 5:30 pm, and Trivia at 6:30pm!

 

FREE entry for teams of up to 4 who will test their knowledge on a range of topics from local history to geography to music and more while enjoying drink specials from Sierra Nevada and competing for prizes.

 Burke Mountain Base Lodge is inviting everyone to enjoy some of the beautiful winter weather and fresh snow for some sledding! Sledding will take place after the lifts close down at 4:30pm - 7:00pm. Cost is $15 for ticket and sled rental, and $5 for helmet rental. All participants must sign release waivers and wear helmets at all times. Participants may bring and use personal helmets.

SOLO Wilderness First Aid & CPR





 The two-day Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course is SOLO's most popular creating a solid foundation in the basics of backcountry medical care. Initially offered in 1975, this course was the first of its kind in the United States, and it is the curriculum upon which all other backcountry medicine courses are based. SOLO CPR certification is included as a part of all WFA courses. This is a great course for mountain bikers, hikers, climbers, backpackers, backcountry skiers and other outdoor enthusiasts who venture out for day and weekend trips. Only current SOLO WFR graduates may use the SOLO WFA to recertify a current WFR certification.

 

Advance registration required.  $195 per person - tuition only.
