BURKE AREA EVENTS

Summertime concerts in the park, NEMBAFest Mountain Bike Festival, The Annual Burke Fall Festival, WinterBike.... events of all sorts happen in and around Burke.  Moonlit snowshoe treks, live music performances, seasonal parades, craft fairs, Open Studios weekend, snowmobile drag races...it's all here!   To keep up to date on local happenings and special deals, sign up for the monthly Burke enewsletter.

Drive In to Stay Safe Movie/Concert Series!





 Catamount Arts and Northern Vermont University are partnering to bring a Drive-In to Stay Safe movie and concert series to our campuses.

 

Beginning July 11 and continuing every Saturday on the (Johnson campus) and Sunday (Lyndon campus) through August, the Drive-in to Stay Safe series will alternate between evening concerts and family friendly movies outside under the stars. The series will take place in the Visual Arts Center (Johnson) and Vail (Lyndon) parking lots with appropriately distanced cars. All guests will need to stay in or on their vehicles.

 

Concert time: 7 pm
Movie time: Parking opens 30 minutes before sunset
Tickets: $20 per car; all tickets pre-purchased with no drop-in traffic

Sit back and watch movies on The Big Screen while enjoying movie theater classics from The Kitchen or come grab a drink at The Bar.

A long time dream at just the right moment, Moonrise Cinemas is the brainchild of Saturn Roblee and incorporates the live event and production backgrounds of partner Cavan Meese and close friends Emily and Tito Ladd. The Lyndon Farmers’ Market has been operating for nearly ten years, and has grown to provide one of the most enjoyable farmers market experiences in the Northeast Kingdom. Over 15 vendors meet every Friday afternoon at beautiful Bandstand Park from May through October. We sell locally grown and made Vermont products, including fresh vegetables and fruits, quality meats, eggs, artisan breads, baked goods, ethnic foods, herbs, plants, flowers, arts and crafts, and maple syrup. Bandstand Park is filled with large shade trees, a fountain, and plenty of room for kids to run and play while parents stroll from tasty cinnamon buns to crisp lettuce and brightly colored carrots. We offer live music every week performed by local musicians. Come and visit us as soon and as often as you can!

SOLO Wilderness First Aid & CPR





Kingdom Adventures Mountain Guides is proud to serve as the sponsor and instructional provider of SOLO wilderness medicine courses in Northern Vermont.  The two-day Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course is SOLO's most popular creating a solid foundation in the basics of backcountry medical care. Initially offered in 1975, this course was the first of its kind in the United States, and it is the curriculum upon which all other backcountry medicine courses are based. SOLO CPR certification is included as a part of all WFA courses. This is a great course for mountain bikers, hikers, climbers, backpackers, backcountry skiers and other outdoor enthusiasts who venture out for day and weekend trips. Only current SOLO WFR graduates may use the SOLO WFA to recertify a current WFR certification.

 

Advance registration required.  $185 per person - tuition only.
