BURKE AREA EVENTS

Summertime concerts in the park, NEMBAFest Mountain Bike Festival, The Annual Burke Fall Festival, WinterBike.... events of all sorts happen in and around Burke.  Moonlit snowshoe treks, live music performances, seasonal parades, craft fairs, Open Studios weekend, snowmobile drag races...it's all here!   To keep up to date on local happenings and special deals, sign up for the monthly Burke enewsletter.

 

From October - March, enjoy ice skating at Chester Arena - check their website for Public Skate times and other events.

Lyndon Farmers' Market

The Lyndon Farmers’ Market has been operating for nearly ten years, and has grown to provide one of the most enjoyable farmers market experiences in the Northeast Kingdom. Over 15 vendors meet every Friday afternoon at beautiful Bandstand Park from May through October. We sell locally grown and made Vermont products, including fresh vegetables and fruits, quality meats, eggs, artisan breads, baked goods, ethnic foods, herbs, plants, flowers, arts and crafts, and maple syrup. Bandstand Park is filled with large shade trees, a fountain, and plenty of room for kids to run and play while parents stroll from tasty cinnamon buns to crisp lettuce and brightly colored carrots. We offer live music every week performed by local musicians. Come and visit us as soon and as often as you can!

Game of Logging Levels 1 and 2

Expert instructors from Northeast Woodland Training will teach the fundamentals of safe chainsaw use, precision tree felling, and equipment care. Take the guesswork out of sawing- your safety matters! For more information and to register contact forestry@northwoodscenter.org. Pre-registration required; space is limited, so sign up early!

SOLO Wilderness First Aid & CPR





Kingdom Adventures Mountain Guides is proud to serve as the sponsor and instructional provider of SOLO wilderness medicine courses in Northern Vermont.  The two-day Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course is SOLO's most popular creating a solid foundation in the basics of backcountry medical care. Initially offered in 1975, this course was the first of its kind in the United States, and it is the curriculum upon which all other backcountry medicine courses are based. SOLO CPR certification is included as a part of all WFA courses. This is a great course for mountain bikers, hikers, climbers, backpackers, backcountry skiers and other outdoor enthusiasts who venture out for day and weekend trips. Only current SOLO WFR graduates may use the SOLO WFA to recertify a current WFR certification.

 

Advance registration required.  $185 per person - tuition only.

Pig Roast & Community Gathering!
4:00 PM - 7:00 PM





  Hosted by Burke Area Chamber of Commerce and One Burke.
Join us in the park for dinner, free smoothies and to learn what One Burke has been up to in the past year. Libbey's Meat Market will be on site with the smoker for the pig roast! Dinner includes 8 ounces of pulled pork on a bun with coleslaw, cornbread and some Death by Chocolate for dessert (cost $12-14 per person). The Burke Area Chamber of Commerce will be giving out free smoothies with help from students and staff of the East Burke School. Folks from One Burke will also be there to share information about projects the task forces have been working on including the West Burke Revitalization project. Please be sure to wear a mask and practice social distancing in the park.
