 A fun, low-pressure, and community-focused weekly race series held every Friday evening from July 11th to September 5th

Whether you're a seasoned shredder or new to enduro racing, this series is for you! Each race features 2–3 timed downhill stages selected for flow, fun, and variety. Riders pedal (or occasionally shuttle) between stages and enjoy a relaxed vibe with a casual post-race hangout on the hotel patio.

Race Highlights:

Full Moon Paddle
7:30 PM





 Take in the spectacle of the full moon on Spectacle Pond. We launch at 7:30PM, and for the next 90 minutes, we'll enjoy the sunset and "Sturgeon Moon."
Life jackets are required to be worn, and paddlers must have a headlight or headlamp. Boat lights are also encouraged, though not required. Due to a small parking area at the boat access, consolidate vehicles as much as possible.
This event is a bring your own katak/paddleboard event as we do not have this equipment at our disposal.

Paint & Sip for Teens and Adults with Ed Kadunc

 Preregister by August 8 on the Athenaeum website or in person at the Athenaeum front desk. Space is limited. The event is free for teens and adults who have pre-registered. Refreshments will be served.


Paint & Sip is a fun and exciting follow-along painting experience for teens and adults. Even if you have never picked up a paintbrush or experimented with tubes of paint, you will be pleasantly surprised as we guide you step-by-step to unleash your creative spirit. You will enjoy refreshments, team spirit, camaraderie, good conversation, and a few laughs as you create, paint, then share your own masterpiece.


Ed Kadunc studied, participated in, and practiced commercial and fine arts for over fifty years. Ed has provided instruction and educational programs and classes at Littleton Studio School, Court Street Arts, Lancaster NH, St. Johnsbury Paint Night events, East Burke School, Atelier Artists Workshops St. J, and the Tuesday Artists Group of Danville.


Materials for each painter are provided by Mr. Kadunc and the Athenaeum. Please wear appropriate clothing.

Burke Enduro Series

 A fun, low-pressure, and community-focused weekly race series held every Friday evening from July 11th to September 5th

Whether you're a seasoned shredder or new to enduro racing, this series is for you! Each race features 2–3 timed downhill stages selected for flow, fun, and variety. Riders pedal (or occasionally shuttle) between stages and enjoy a relaxed vibe with a casual post-race hangout on the hotel patio.

Race Highlights:

Weekly on Fridays, starting July 11th, at 5:30 PM
2–3 fun, flowy stages each week
$10 entry fee
QR code-based timing using Webscorer
Categories for Open Men, Open Women, and Juniors (U18)
Series points awarded weekly; overall standings tracked
Podium recognition and post-race hangouts with food & drink specials
No experience needed — just bring your stoke, your bike, and a sense of adventure. Riders of all abilities are welcome!

Interested in the work of our Riparian Lands Crew? Join us for a day of seed collection this August, when we’ll be collecting and processing chokecherry.

This is a great opportunity to get out in the field and learn id and collection methods, no prior training necessary.

Attendees meet and park at NorthWoods Stewardship Center at 8:30 am. Limited attendee slots, so please register early!

Benefit: Brighton Recreation - installation of a new public playground!
2 Distances: "Full Pond” 5.5 miles, start and finish at the Town Beach. Or "Half Pond” 2.5 miles, start at the
Town Beach, finish at the State Beach. (Transportation will be provided back from Half Pond finish line)
Terrain: 2 short up-hills, plenty of flat & gradual downs.
 Goodies: Placement medals, prize raffle, water tables, finish line snacks. T-shirts available to all participants who register by August 1, 2025
