SOLO Wilderness First Aid Certification

 $200 per person - tuition only
The two-day Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course is SOLO's most popular creating a solid foundation in the basics of backcountry medical care. Initially offered in 1975, this course was the first of its kind in the United States, and it is the curriculum upon which all other backcountry medicine courses are based. This is a great course for mountain bikers, hikers, climbers, backpackers, backcountry skiers and other outdoor enthusiasts who venture out for day and weekend trips.

Fallback Festival

 This event is a culmination of the annual Chili Cookoff Contest, combined with a Brewfest and endurance challenge.

Attracting talented cooks from the NEK and beyond, the Chili Cookoff alone is worth attending. Add a chance to drink some local brews from Red Barn Brewing, St. Johnsbury Distillery, and more and you have an epic afternoon. Sign up for the Endurance Challenge that starts at 10 if you want to be extra hungry come chili time.

The leaves will be off the trees, so come and celebrate stick season and get ready for the time change with your friends and neighbors.

Thanks to local NEK and Vermont businesses, we will also have an incredible raffle. Outdoors we will have a bonfire, cornhole, and more!

Memory Tree Lighting

 The WBMCC's memory tree gives people the opportunity to honor a loved one that is now with the Lord in heaven with a bright light for the holiday season. Allowing everyone to remember their shine in life. We have a beautiful ceremony with a group prayer, a reading of the names honored on the tree for all to hear.
It is $5 per bulb to honor the memory of your loved one. You can fill out a form, and include payment to be turned in by November 28th. You can either complete the form in person at Sunday services 10 AM or mail them in to the West Burke Methodist Community Church at PO Box 302 West Burke, VT 05871. Checks must be made out to WBUMC for payment.
